Innermost Jeeves Bowler Hat Table Lamp, Wool Felt & Gold

A table lamp wearing a handmade wool felt bowler hat, lined in gold-anodized aluminum: British wit you can switch on.

Jeeves is Jake Phipps’s bowler-hat lamp, here on a slim steel stem and round base. The hat is real wool felt, handmade, with an anodized aluminum lining that reflects a warm gold light down onto the table. It stands 22" tall and takes a single G9 bulb; Innermost recommends a dimmable LED G9 of up to 500 lumens in warm white. An inline switch sits on the cord.

About the designer

Jake Phipps is a British designer whose work often plays with familiar objects. Jeeves and Wooster, named after P.G. Wodehouse’s famous valet and his master, became two of Innermost’s best-known designs, hung everywhere from Harvey Nichols in London to Google’s London office.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and Jeeves is one of the few lamps that is both funny and beautifully made. Innermost was founded in London in 1999 by designers Steve Jones and Russell Cameron, who started out in an old lighting factory in Wembley and went on to work with designers from around the world who had made London their home. Its pieces hang in hotels, restaurants and shops from London to Dubai. Innermost has since closed, so what we have is the remaining new stock; once a finish sells out we cannot reorder it.

Buy once: durability and care

Remove dust from the felt with a soft brush or a lint roller; keep it dry and away from steam (our advice). Have a licensed electrician install hardwired fixtures.
