A tiered resin pendant inspired by Asian temple architecture, hand-finished and beeswax-polished, Good Design Award 2015.

Stupa by Freshwest is cast in resin, then each piece is joined and hand-finished on a lathe and polished with beeswax. The tiered form, inspired by the stupas of Myanmar, glows with an ambient warmth while still giving a practical light level. Choose Stupa 18 (7.1" × 9.8") or the generous Stupa 56 (22" × 18.9"), in white or yellow. It won a Good Design Award in 2015.

About the designer

Freshwest is a British design studio that designed Stupa for Innermost; the pendant won a Good Design Award in 2015.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and Stupa is award-winning design with a genuinely handmade finish. Innermost was founded in London in 1999 by designers Steve Jones and Russell Cameron, who started out in an old lighting factory in Wembley and went on to work with designers from around the world who had made London their home. Its pieces hang in hotels, restaurants and shops from London to Dubai. Innermost has since closed, so what we have is the remaining new stock; once a finish sells out we cannot reorder it.

Buy once: durability and care

Dust the resin with a soft, dry cloth; a slightly damp cloth removes marks. Avoid solvents and abrasive cleaners (our advice). Have a licensed electrician install hardwired fixtures.
