Original BTC

Original BTC: British lighting made in its own factories since 1990. We’ve carried Original BTC for years because it is one of the few lighting brands that still makes nearly everything itself, in England.

Founded in Oxfordshire in 1990 by designer Peter Bowles, the first designer to use bone china for lighting, Original BTC rescued its Stoke-on-Trent bone china factory in 2002, took on the marine and industrial maker Davey Lighting in 2010, and in 2011 added a glassworks (English Antique Glass, the UK’s last traditional flat-glass maker) and a Birmingham metal works. The result is a range that runs from the classic Hector bone china dome to ship’s well glass lights rated for weather, plus collaborations with Sir Terence Conran, Beata Heuman and Buchanan Studio. Every light here is the US 120V version.
