The Missoni story
Ottavio and Rosita Missoni founded Missoni in 1953 in Gallarate, northern Italy, as a small knitwear workshop. Their zigzag and striped knits made the name world-famous in the 1960s. Missoni Home grew out of the family's furnishing fabrics, and Rosita Missoni led the home collection from the 1990s. The tableware is designed in Italy and sold in luxury department stores and design boutiques worldwide.

Why Missoni is worth the investment
Missoni's zigzag and stripes have defined the house since the 1960s, so these are patterns you can keep adding to rather than trends that date. Bone china is lighter and whiter than ordinary porcelain, many cup and mug sets come in a Missoni gift box, and a daily mug used for five years costs a few cents per use.
