Per Weiss Sleeper Sofas: Which One for Which Room

Innovation Living Cubed sofa bed designed by Per Weiss

Per Weiss has led design at Danish maker Innovation Living since 1989, and nearly everything he draws is a sofa that turns into a bed. The trick is matching the model to the room and to how often it will be slept on.

“Compact room, Cubed. Everyday living room, Neah.”

Our rule of thumb

Studios and home offices

Cubed has a crisp, compact silhouette and opens forward into a full bed in one movement, so it needs little more floor space than the sofa itself. Carnell is another small sofa that hides a big bed.

Living rooms

  • Neah: designed so it never looks like a sleeper, a good choice when the sofa faces the room every day.
  • Newilla: deep, relaxed sectional proportions for lounging.

Family rooms and guest rooms

Vilander is a generous three-seater with soft feather-mix cushions and a choice of three arms, and Supremax adds chrome legs and an extended seat for stretching out.
