Latitude by Flynn Talbot takes the ordinary spotlight and makes it the centerpiece. A 15.75" sphere of aluminum and steel wire surrounds an integrated 10W LED spot (850 lumens, 2700K), and a clever suspension cable lets you tilt the spot to point anywhere: down at a table, up at the ceiling or across at a painting. It won a Certificate of Excellence for Best Lighting, Professional Product Design, at the 2014 A&D Trophy Awards.

About the designer

Flynn Talbot is an Australian-born designer based in London who works with light and color. With Latitude he took the humble spotlight and made it the centerpiece, wrapping it in a wire sphere that can be tilted to aim the light anywhere.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and Latitude is clever, flexible and recognized for its design. Innermost was founded in London in 1999 by designers Steve Jones and Russell Cameron, who started out in an old lighting factory in Wembley and went on to work with designers from around the world who had made London their home. Its pieces hang in hotels, restaurants and shops from London to Dubai. Innermost has since closed, so what we have is the remaining new stock; once a finish sells out we cannot reorder it.

Buy once: durability and care

Dust with a soft, dry microfiber cloth; for fingerprints use a barely damp cloth and dry it straight away. Never use abrasive pads, polish or solvent cleaners on the finish (our advice). Have a licensed electrician install hardwired fixtures.
