Humble makes cordless, rechargeable LED table lamps in Amsterdam: candle-warm light without a flame or a cord, for dining tables, terraces, bars and hotels.

Humble began in 2018, when founder Jorren Teertstra teamed up with friends at the Amsterdam design studio APE to create a modern alternative to candlelight. The first lamp, the Humble One, paired a long-lasting battery with a signature bulb, and its modest, friendly character gave the brand its name. Today Humble designs its lamps in a studio in Amsterdam’s Houthaven district, built from durable materials and replaceable parts. According to Humble, its lamps light hotels and restaurants including Four Seasons, Mandarin Oriental, Rosewood, The Savoy and the Cunard cruise line.

Frequently asked questions

Are Humble lamps really cordless?

Yes. Every Humble lamp runs on a built-in rechargeable battery and charges on a Qi wireless charger; the original One, Two, Firefly, Air and Bug also charge with an included USB-C cable. Run times range from up to 90 hours (Bug) to up to 140 hours (One, Firefly, Air) per charge.

Can Humble lamps be used outside?

Yes. All Humble table lamps we sell are rated IP65, protected against rain, so they work on terraces, balconies and garden tables. The chargers and the Charging Dock Six are for indoor, dry use.

Which Humble charger should I buy?

For one lamp, the single wireless charger; for two, the double. Restaurants and hotels charging many lamps use the Charging Dock Six (six lamps, or four Bug), and the Stack Set turns several docks into a tower.

What is the difference between the V2 lamps and the originals?

The V2 Two, Firefly and Air keep the same shapes, come in newer finishes and charge wirelessly only on a Qi charger; the originals also charge with an included USB-C cable.
