The Eguchi Toys story
Eguchi Toys was founded in Taipei in 2015 by Kentaro (Ken) Eguchi. He studied fine art at the School of Visual Arts in New York, qualified as a Montessori teacher, and in 1997 opened Ivy's House Montessori kindergarten in Taipei. Today a team of designers, carpenters and preschool educators designs every Eguchi toy around what children are working on at each stage, then gives it a shape and palette adults are happy to live with. The brand has exhibited at Maison&Objet Paris (2017, 2019, 2024) and the Nuremberg International Toy Fair (2019, 2020).

Why Eguchi Toys is worth the investment
Eguchi toys are made by hand from solid wood and designed by an educator, so they are built to be passed from one child to the next rather than replaced. The Landscape Blocks work out to under $5.50 per handmade beech block, and a bird mobile moves from the nursery to a living room when the baby years are over.
