How high should step lights be mounted?

Usually 12" to 18" above the tread, one every two to three steps (our advice).

Can they go outdoors?

Most Nora step lights are wet-location listed; check each page.

What box do they need?

A standard single-gang switch box; the Ari series needs at least 2" × 3.8" × 1.8" inside.
