Nyta was founded in Germany in 2012 by designer Fabian Maier and architects Johannes Marmon and Johannes Müller. Almost all of its lights are designed in-house and made in Europe. Its best-known design, Tilt, has a shade that works like a cupped reflector: it pivots along its oblong opening and turns a full 360°, so one pendant can light a table, a wall or a reading chair. The awards Nyta lists include the Good Design Award (Chicago, 2015) and the German Design Award (2015). We’ve been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and every Nyta light we sell is genuine and new.

How to choose
For a dining table or kitchen island, choose the 11″ Tilt; for bedsides, entries and smaller rooms, the 7.9″ Tilt Globe. Matte aluminum is light and understated; solid brass is warmer and develops a patina. For a cluster, add the Multiple canopy (3 or 5 lights). All take a standard E26 bulb and are hardwired for indoor use.

Can I hang several Tilt pendants together?
Yes. The Multiple canopy holds three or five Tilt-range pendants on one ceiling plate; pendants are sold separately.
Are Nyta lights suitable for bathrooms or outdoors?
No. They are rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.
