Yamagiwa Jakobsson Pine Table Lamp, Small

The compact Jakobsson table lamp: 13.4 inches of tiered pine that turns a corner warm and amber.

The small Jakobsson table lamp is the most compact way into this 1960s Swedish design. Thin rings of European pine sit on a slim stem and a 4.9-inch base, and when lit they filter the bulb into a soft, reddish-orange glow. At 13.4 inches tall and 1 lb it fits a nightstand or a shelf, and an inline switch on the cord turns it on and off.

Why we carry it

We’ve been curating design-led lighting since 2009. Yamagiwa, founded in Tokyo in 1923, is a Japanese lighting maker that works with architects and designers; it makes the Jakobsson Lamp today and produces Toyo Ito’s Mayuhana series. We source it through Yamagiwa’s official US distributor, so you get the authentic lamp with US electrical (120V AC).

Buy once: durability and care

AMEICO’s care notes: don’t place the light in high humidity or in a bathroom; set it up on a level surface so it can’t fall over, and keep it away from combustible or volatile materials. The distributor doesn’t publish cleaning instructions; our advice: dust the pine bands gently with a soft, dry brush with the lamp switched off and cool, and avoid water and cleaners.
