Yamagiwa Jakobsson Pine Table Lamp, Large

Hans-Agne Jakobsson’s tiered pine table lamp at its larger 19-inch size, made in Japan by Yamagiwa.

The large Jakobsson table lamp layers rings of thin European pine over a slim pine stem. When lit, the wood diffuses the bulb into a soft, reddish-orange glow and reveals its fine grain. At 19.2 inches tall and 14.2 inches across it is sized for a sideboard, a console or a generous side table, and it switches on and off at an inline switch on the cord.

Why we carry it

We’ve been curating design-led lighting since 2009. Yamagiwa, founded in Tokyo in 1923, is a Japanese lighting maker that works with architects and designers; it makes the Jakobsson Lamp today and produces Toyo Ito’s Mayuhana series. We source it through Yamagiwa’s official US distributor, so you get the authentic lamp with US electrical (120V AC).

Buy once: durability and care

AMEICO’s care notes: don’t place the light in high humidity or in a bathroom; set it up on a level surface so it can’t fall over, and keep it away from combustible or volatile materials. The distributor doesn’t publish cleaning instructions; our advice: dust the pine bands gently with a soft, dry brush with the lamp switched off and cool, and avoid water and cleaners.
