A 53-inch pine floor lamp from Hans-Agne Jakobsson, with a foot switch and a tiered wood shade.
The Jakobsson floor lamp lifts the signature tiered pine shade on a tall pine stem to 53 inches. The shade, 15.7 inches across, turns the bulb into the warm, reddish-orange glow the design is known for, while the 9.1-inch base keeps it steady. A foot switch on the cord makes it easy to turn on as you walk past.

Why we carry it
We’ve been curating design-led lighting since 2009. Yamagiwa, founded in Tokyo in 1923, is a Japanese lighting maker that works with architects and designers; it makes the Jakobsson Lamp today and produces Toyo Ito’s Mayuhana series.
Buy once: durability and care
Care notes: don’t place the light in high humidity or in a bathroom; set it up on a level surface so it can’t fall over, and keep it away from combustible or volatile materials. our advice: dust the pine bands gently with a soft, dry brush with the lamp switched off and cool, and avoid water and cleaners.
