KUON Madoka Kaori Brass Incense Holder, Stick or Cone
KUON Madoka Kaori Brass Incense Holder, Stick or Cone
Couldn't load pickup availability
A lustrous little brass dish that holds a stick or a cone of incense, from KUON’s Madoka series, handmade in Takaoka, Japan.
Kaori means “fragrance,” and this is KUON’s quietly beautiful answer to the incense holder. It is a shallow, softly rounded dish of brass, 2.8″ across and 0.7″ high, with a small detachable part: leave it in to stand a stick of incense, take it out to burn a cone. The minimal form blends into any room, and the lustrous finish — Gold, Rose Gold or Silver — catches the light as the smoke rises. Like all KUON pieces, it is made by hand in Takaoka, so the finish varies slightly.

Why we carry it
We’ve been curating design-led pieces since 2009, and we look for objects that are well made, honest about their materials and a pleasure to use. KUON (空穏, “calm sky”) is the mindfulness and interior line of Yotsukawa Seisakusho, a copperware maker founded in 1946 in Kanaya-machi, Takaoka City, the birthplace of Takaoka’s famous metal-casting industry. Working with the town’s specialist artisans and workshops, it pairs traditional Takaoka techniques with soft, contemporary forms. Each piece is made by hand, so the finish can vary slightly from one to the next.
Buy once: durability and care
Our care advice: wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use and avoid abrasive pads or polish, which can scratch the finish. Each piece is handmade, so small differences in finish and color are part of its character.
