KUON Madoka Dongurin Acorn Bell, Brass Meditation Bell
Couldn't load pickup availability
A tiny brass acorn that rings with a clear, bright tone when you tip it — a pocket-sized meditation bell from KUON in Takaoka, Japan.
The Dongurin (from donguri, “acorn”) is an orin bell in the shape of an acorn, from KUON’s rounded Madoka series. Inside hangs a patented pendulum: tip the bell and it touches the brass, giving a gentle, clear tone that lingers like a breath. Use it for a few seconds of calm between tasks, or to open a longer session of meditation or prayer. The body is brass, the cap is wood — zelkova on Gold, walnut on Rose Gold, maple on Silver — and the whole piece is just 1.7″ across and 2.4″ tall. Each one is made by hand, so the finish and color vary slightly.

Who this is not for

- Homes with toddlers who might swallow small parts: keep it out of reach (our advice).
- Anyone expecting a mirror-identical finish: each piece is handmade.
Why we carry it
We’ve been curating design-led pieces since 2009, and we look for objects that are well made, honest about their materials and a pleasure to use. KUON (空穏, “calm sky”) is the mindfulness and interior line of Yotsukawa Seisakusho, a copperware maker founded in 1946 in Kanaya-machi, Takaoka City, the birthplace of Takaoka’s famous metal-casting industry. Working with the town’s specialist artisans and workshops, it pairs traditional Takaoka techniques with soft, contemporary forms. Each piece is made by hand, so the finish can vary slightly from one to the next.
Buy once: durability and care
Our care advice: wipe with a soft, dry cloth after use and avoid abrasive pads or polish, which can scratch the finish. Each piece is handmade, so small differences in finish and color are part of its character.
