A thick, solid-oak bench with soft rounded edges, 43.3 inches long, made to be handed down.
The ELI bench is 43.3" long, 15.6" deep and 17.7" high, cut from deep solid regional oak with gently rounded edges. Its sheer thickness gives it visual and structural strength, so it works as a dining bench, an entry seat or a low table for books and plants. Felt pads under the legs protect floors. ELI is made in Poland and recommended for indoor use. blomus reports that the ELI bench and stool received a German Design Award Special in 2022.

The designer: Theresa Rand
Theresa Rand trained in her native Germany and in Copenhagen, where she now lives and works, so her designs join the Nordic eye for calm form with a German respect for function and quality. She favors classic shapes, natural materials and subtle colors, and likes objects that are simple and useful but still tell a small story. Her other blomus designs include the STELLA cutlery.

ELI is the solid-oak seating we recommend as true heirloom furniture: thick regional oak, rounded edges, felt glides and a shape that works as a seat or a table, made in Poland. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.
