Pholc Apollo Machined Aluminum Cone Pendant, 39, 59 or 79

A slim pendant of two solid machine-turned cones, balanced point to point like a gyroscope, in three lengths and twelve finishes.

Apollo is the collection that defines Pholc: simple, yet expressive. Each pendant is turned from solid aluminum, with brass on the G9 versions, so it has real weight and a precise, machined finish. The slim 4.9" profile makes Apollo easy to hang in rows or clusters, and the three lengths (20.5", 28.3" and 36.2") let you build a staggered group over an island, a reception desk or a stairwell. Aluminum versions take a GU10 spot for a crisp downward beam; brass versions take a G9 bulb for a softer glow.

About the designer

Broberg & Ridderstråle is the Stockholm studio of Mats Broberg and Johan Ridderstråle. They work across architecture and design, take inspiration from everyday life and like to mix a rational approach with a little wit and a clash between past and present. For Pholc they designed Apollo, Romb, Turner and Kandinsky.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and Apollo is the purest expression of Pholc’s design and one of the most elegant small pendants we carry. Pholc is a Swedish lighting brand founded in 2015 by Maja and Samuel Norburg, who set out to define what Swedish design can be. It works with designers such as Broberg & Ridderstråle, Nina Jobs and Stina Sandwall, Monika Mulder and Sabina Grubbeson, and every Pholc lamp is meant to have its own personality.

Buy once: durability and care

Wipe with a soft, dry cloth; never use detergents with abrasives or solvents, which can mark the machined surface (Pholc’s care advice). Have a licensed electrician install hardwired fixtures.
