Manhattan distils the stepped forms and vertical lines of New York’s art-deco towers, the Chrysler Building and the Empire State, into a slender brass column. The body is CNC-milled from solid brass and polished, then finished with your choice of five shades: cotton, pleated silk, or hand-blown ribbed glass in amber, frosted or green. Every shade gives a direct downlight onto the table with a soft glow around it.

Buy once: durability and care

Dust the metal with a soft, dry cloth; avoid abrasive cleaners; wipe glass or resin with a soft, slightly damp cloth while the lamp is off; dust fabric or parchment shades with a soft brush. If you store the lamp for a while, NEOZ advises recharging it every two to three months and keeping it below 77 °F (25 °C). When the battery eventually tires (NEOZ suggests every three to five years), replace the battery, not the lamp.

The NEOZ Manhattan was designed by Gabriel Tam. Every NEOZ lamp is drawn, engineered and hand-assembled by the company’s in-house design and engineering team in Terrey Hills, Sydney, led by founder and industrial designer Peter Ellis.
