TORU is made from a single piece of glazed ceramic, 17.3" high and holding up to 200 lb, so it works as an extra seat as well as a side table. Choose the Round Drum, 13.4" across, or the Table Silhouette, 13" across, where the top and legs are formed in one piece. Colors are Off White, Elephant Skin (soft gray) and Fungi (mushroom beige). Each weighs about 17.6 lb, sturdy enough to stay put but light enough to move. TORU is for indoor use.

The design: studio blomus

studio blomus is the in-house design team at the blomus headquarters in Sundern, Germany. It develops many of the brand’s home pieces, from furniture and textiles to home fragrance, drawing on the company’s own design know-how that goes back to 1961.

It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.
