A folded-steel wall shelf with softly curved ends, in a small or medium width, that also works as a floating nightstand.

Each ORU shelf is 8.7" deep and 5.6" high, with a gently curved steel profile that looks folded rather than welded. The Small is 11.8" wide and holds up to 8.8 lb, enough to serve as a floating nightstand in a tight bedroom; the Medium is 23.6" wide and holds up to 11 lb. Hang one alone or group several into a display wall; you can also remove the side pieces and join center sections for a longer run. Mounting hardware is included. Choose Burnt Metallic or, in the Medium, brushed stainless steel, which also suits a bathroom. According to blomus, the ORU wall shelves won the German Design Award 2025 in the Winner category.

The designer: Robin Scholtysik

Robin Scholtysik (born 1991) trained as a carpenter and finished his design degree at the Münster School of Design in 2017, alongside his master craftsman qualification in carpentry. His work covers furniture, interiors and brand spaces, always shaped by how hand techniques and industrial production meet. ORU, which started as a single side table, was his first project for blomus.
