A palm-free soy-wax candle in colored glass with a wood lid, in small and large sizes and five scents.

VALOA candles burn cleanly from natural soy wax with no palm. The Small is 3" across and 3" high and burns about 30 hours; the Large is 3.6" × 3.7" and burns about 45 hours. Each scent has its own glass: Ylang-Ylang in Misty Rose (floral, honeyed, with jasmine and rose), Neroli in Lily White (orange blossom with citrus and spice), Vetiver in Ashes of Roses (earthy wood with eucalyptus and cinnamon), Bergamot in Tan (woody bergamot with rose, musk and sandalwood) and Fig Tree & Lime in Agave Green (fig and cedarwood brightened with citrus). The wood lid keeps the scent in and serves as a coaster while the candle burns.

The design: studio blomus

studio blomus is the in-house design team at the blomus headquarters in Sundern, Germany. It develops many of the brand’s home pieces, from furniture and textiles to home fragrance, drawing on the company’s own design know-how that goes back to 1961.

Why we carry it

We are an authorized blomus retailer and have been curating design-led pieces for the home since 2009. VALOA is the blomus candle line we suggest for anyone who wants a clean burn and a container worth keeping: soy wax with no palm, five scents and colored glass with a wooden lid. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.

Buy once: durability and care

Trim the wick and let the wax melt across the surface on every burn; never leave a burning candle unattended or near drafts. The wood lid keeps the scent in between uses and doubles as a base under the hot glass.
