The ACQUA carafe by Nina Thöming pairs a tall body of hand-blown glass with a lid in brushed 18/8 stainless steel and silicone. You never take the lid off to pour: water flows out through it while ice cubes, lemon or lime slices stay in the carafe. The 34 oz (1 liter) size is 11.9" tall and slim enough for a standard refrigerator door; the 51 oz (1.5 liter) size serves a full dinner table.

The designer: Nina Thöming

Nina Thöming (born 1984) is an industrial designer with Flöz Design, a German studio that has worked with blomus for about 15 years. She begins every project by researching what people need and where the market falls short, then turns those findings into objects that are useful first and beautiful too. Her other blomus designs include the PILAR tableware, the SPLASH carafe and the SONO bath range.

It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.
