Over a dining table, in a double-height entry or at the center of a primary suite, the Sedona Single Chandelier (24.5" wide) can carry the room. Start with the table and ceiling numbers below.

Damp rated · Outdoor under cover · Dimmable · ELV/TRIAC · 4 × E26 sockets

Where the Sedona Single Chandelier works in the house

Dining rooms. Center it over the table, not the room, with the bottom 30–36 inches above the tabletop. A fixture about half to three-quarters of the table width keeps the proportions comfortable.

Entries and stairwells. In a two-story foyer hang it so the lowest point clears sightlines from the landing; use the stems to reach the right height and keep 7 feet clear underneath.

Primary bedrooms and living rooms. Centered over the bed or a seating group, a chandelier works as a soft ambient layer on a dimmer.

Room planner: size, height and placement

The numbers below come from the manufacturer's specifications and our own placement rules, worked out for the Sedona Single Chandelier.

  • Rectangular table: at least 31" wide (24.5" fixture + 6")
  • Round table: about 33–49" across (fixture = ½ to ¾ of the table)
  • Hanging height over the table: bottom of the fixture 30–36" over the tabletop
  • In a room with an 8 ft ceiling: overall height about 30–36"
  • With a 9 ft ceiling: overall height about 42–48"
  • With a 10 ft ceiling: overall height about 54–60"
  • With a 12 ft ceiling: overall height about 78–84"
  • Hall, stair or walk-through: ceiling at least 10 ft to keep 7 ft of clearance under the fixture
  • Taller ceilings: up to 93.1" overall with the included stems
  • On a sloped ceiling: Sloped ceilings up to 45°

Ceiling and table figures are our calculation for standard room dimensions, so measure your space. Have a licensed electrician install hardwired fixtures.

Pulling the room together

Layer it with wall sconces on the dining-room walls or a buffet lamp, and keep the chandelier on a dimmer so dinner and homework can share the table. Echo the finish in the sideboard hardware or mirror frame.

For commercial and multi-unit projects

For restaurants, boutique hotels and clubhouses, specify one fixture per table bay or a line of identical fixtures down the room. Send us the ceiling heights and table plan and we will help with sizes, stem counts and dimming.

When another fixture is the better call

  • Anyone who wants identical glass: each orb is artisan-made, so slight variations are part of the piece.
  • Low ceilings: the fixture itself is 30" tall, so under an 8-foot ceiling it can hang into head space.
  • Fully exposed outdoor locations: it is rated for covered outdoor spaces, not direct rain.
  • Commercial 277V circuits: this version is 120V.

Care, cleaning and upkeep

Bulbs are replaceable; use the lamp type on the spec sheet. Clean crystal or glass with a soft, lint-free cloth, power off and cool; avoid ammonia and abrasive cleaners (our advice). Natural and hand-rubbed brass are living finishes that patina and warm with age; Visual Comfort notes a brass cleaner can restore an uneven patina. Dust the frame with a dry microfiber cloth, power off. Installation is hardwired, so use a licensed electrician.
