Where the Bowman 12 LED Outdoor Pendant works in the house

Front and side doors. Mount one fixture on each side of the door, or one on the latch side if space is tight, with the center about 66 inches above the threshold.

Garages. Flank the door or place one between two doors, a little above the door's midpoint, so the light falls on the driveway and not into the neighbor's window.

Walls, courtyards and paths. Space fixtures about 8–10 feet apart for wayfinding, and check the projection against the walkway width.

When another fixture is the better call

• Sites exposed to high winds: Visual Comfort advises against hanging outdoor pendants where strong wind can swing them.
• Anyone who wants a cord-hung pendant: Bowman uses rigid stems only.
• Rooms that need 2700K: this item is 3000K; Visual Comfort’s other Bowman color temperatures are not on the current price list.
• Dark Sky projects: Bowman is not Dark Sky compliant.

Care, cleaning and upkeep

The LED module is built in and field-serviceable, rated for more than 60,000 hours to L70. Rinse the shade with clean water and wipe it with a soft cloth; avoid pressure washers and abrasive cleaners on the powder coat and the acrylic diffuser (our advice). Installation is hardwired to a wet-location ceiling box by a licensed electrician.
