Where the Bau 36 LED Pendant works in the house

Kitchen islands and breakfast bars. Hang them in a row centered on the island, with the bottom of each shade 30–36 inches above the counter. Space the centers to suit the island length so the row ends short of the overhang.

Dining tables and banquettes. Two or three over a table read as a set; keep the line centered and the lowest point about 30–36 inches above the top.

Bedsides, offices and entries. Singles or pairs replace table lamps beside a bed and free the nightstand, or mark a small entry or reading nook.

Keep the pendant row on its own dimmer and add recessed or under-cabinet light for tasks. Match the metal to the cabinet pulls or faucet and let the counter stools carry the second material.

• Anyone who needs a bright downlight: Bau is indirect, ambient light.
• Low ceilings: the pendant itself is 36" tall, so plan where it hangs carefully under an 8-foot ceiling.
• Fully exposed outdoor locations: it is rated for covered outdoor spaces, not direct rain.
• Anyone who wants 2700K or 3500K or tunable white: it comes in 3000K only.

Care, cleaning and upkeep

The LED is built in, so there are no bulbs to buy or replace. Dust the frame with a dry microfiber cloth, power off. Installation is hardwired, so use a licensed electrician.
