Where the Alina Monopoint Pendant works in the house

Kitchen islands and breakfast bars. Hang them in a row centered on the island, with the bottom of each shade 30–36 inches above the counter. Space the centers to suit the island length so the row ends short of the overhang.

Dining tables and banquettes. Two or three over a table read as a set; keep the line centered and the lowest point about 30–36 inches above the top.

Bedsides, offices and entries. Singles or pairs replace table lamps beside a bed and free the nightstand, or mark a small entry or reading nook.

Pulling the room together

Keep the pendant row on its own dimmer and add recessed or under-cabinet light for tasks. Match the metal to the cabinet pulls or faucet and let the counter stools carry the second material.

Care, cleaning and upkeep

The lamp is replaceable: it takes a standard GY6.35 bi-pin (12V) lamp. Clean crystal or glass with a soft, lint-free cloth, power off and cool; avoid ammonia and abrasive cleaners (our advice). Dust the frame with a dry microfiber cloth, power off. Installation is hardwired, so use a licensed electrician.
