Why we carry it

We’ve been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and Original BTC is one of the few lighting brands that still makes its own pieces in Britain. It belongs to Davey Lighting, the marine and industrial line Original BTC acquired in 2010 to keep production in England. Davey’s roots go back to the shipyards of nineteenth-century London, and many of its lights are IP rated and still made by hand.

Buy once: durability and care

Our advice: switch off, then wipe with a soft dry cloth. Don’t use metal polish or abrasive cleaners on weathered, sandblasted or galvanised finishes; they are meant to keep their working character. Outdoors, an occasional rinse with fresh water helps in coastal air.
