Who this is not for

This is not for anyone who wants a frameless plain mirror; this one is meant to glow.

Why we carry Nova of California

Nova says it is the oldest lighting company in North America: founded in Brooklyn in 1923, now working from Venice Beach. Its design director Peter Morelli developed the arc lamps for the American market, and by 1970 the brand was being called the king of arc lamps. We have been curating design-led lighting since 2009, and Nova earns its place for one reason: the proportions look expensive and the build is meant to stay in the house for years.

Care, bulbs and dimming

Dust with a dry cloth and skip harsh cleaners. Nova says a damp cloth is fine on clear or mirrored glass, and that a standard touch-up pen covers minor scratches on wood or gold leaf. The 18W light source comes with the lamp; for dimming, Nova recommends quality dimmable, flicker-free LEDs.

California Proposition 65: this product may contain chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer or reproductive harm.
