A small handbag with a raised tile pattern and a peach-soft touch, knitted without waste by Mate Mono in Japan.

The Tile Bag is knitted on a special machine from Komatsu Matere’s own yarn. During dyeing the knit shrinks, condensing the fibers into a dense, springy fabric with a raised tile pattern and a surface as soft as short peach fuzz. A distinctive handle completes the look. Because the bag is knitted to shape rather than cut, it wastes no material. It is about 9″ square and 2.3″ deep, holds up to about 3 kg (6.6 lb), and comes in four colors.
