Bauhaus Christmas Ornaments, Set of 12, by IC Design

Twelve turned-maple Christmas ornaments from the Bauhaus era, re-edited for the Bauhaus centennial and gift boxed.

IC Design re-edited this set of 12 wooden ornaments for the Bauhaus centennial (1919–2019). Designed in 1929/30 and attributed to Bauhaus architect Johannes Gabriel, they are turned from maple and strung for hanging, crafted largely by hand in the Black Forest. The bell is 1.25 inches tall and the cones 4 inches. Gift boxed.

The originals were found in the estate of a Cologne architect who bought many objects directly from the Bauhaus. Their clean geometric forms recall Oskar Schlemmer’s costumes for the Triadic Ballet. IC Design notes that each ornament is handmade and hand-painted in the Black Forest.
