Antonia Campi’s Italicus Poultry Shears (model 397), originally produced by Ermenegildo Collini S.p.A., as part of MoMA’s permanent collection. Shaped to fit the hand with a responsive spring mechanism, they are hot-drop forged stainless steel, mirror-polished, 9.5 inches long, made in Germany and gift boxed.

Campi, born in Sondrio in 1921, worked across ceramics, jewelry, metal and glass and won a Compasso d’Oro in 2011 for a lifetime of design achievement. Her shears show how an everyday tool can be an object of beauty.
