FontanaArte Tropico Table Lamp Medium, Etched Glass Cap, Marble Base, 14.1 in

The FontanaArte Tropico Table Lamp Medium sets a flattened cap of etched opal glass on a short marble column, finished with a mirrored metal button at the crown. At 14.1 in across and 12.6 in tall it is sized for the everyday surfaces of a home: a nightstand, a side table by a sofa, a desk or a hallway console. The integrated LED gives a warm, even glow and a dimmer lets you take it from reading light to a quiet evening level.

Light quality and how it performs

The medium Tropico gives about 3000 lumens from its integrated LED, a comfortable amount for reading in bed or lighting a sofa corner. The etched opal cap spreads the light softly in every direction and the wide brim sends a pool of light down onto the table, so books, a phone or a cup of tea are easy to see without glare.

Its colour rendering is high, CRI above 90, so fabrics, wood and skin look true and warm at 2700K. The dimmer lets you lower it gradually for the end of the day. With the LED built in, there is nothing to replace.

Size and placement

At 14.1 in (36 cm) wide and 12.6 in (32 cm) tall, the medium Tropico fits a standard nightstand or side table of 16 in or more. Its low height keeps the light at mattress and seat level, which is ideal for reading in bed or beside an armchair.

A pair on matching nightstands frames a bed with calm symmetry. On a desk, place it to one side so the brim lights the work surface. In a wall niche or on a bookshelf, as the maker shows, it makes a softly glowing focal point.

Where it works

Bedrooms. The medium size is the natural nightstand Tropico: low, soft and dimmable.

Living rooms and studies. On a side table by a sofa or a writing desk it gives focused, glare-free light.

Hotels and lounges. Guest-room nightstands, suite desks and lounge side tables benefit from its high colour rendering and the solid feel of marble. It plugs in, with no wiring needed.

Style and pairing

Designed by Gabriele and Oscar Buratti in 2020, Tropico is part of the Milan studio's family of 'shapes of light' for FontanaArte. In black marble it looks graphic and Modern against walnut or dark walls; in white it is softer and suits Minimalist and Contemporary rooms with plaster, linen and pale oak; light gray is an easy Transitional neutral. Pair it with natural textures and a few objects so its silhouette stays clear.

Why choose Tropico Medium

• Right-sized for nightstands, side tables and desks.
• High-CRI 2700K LED light, about 3000 lumens.
• Etched opal glass cap for soft, glare-free light.
• Marble base in black, white or light gray.
• Dimmable with no bulb to replace.

Care

Unplug before cleaning. Wipe the glass with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it. Dust the marble base with a soft dry cloth; avoid acidic or abrasive cleaners. Lift by the base, not the glass. Dry indoor locations only.
