The FontanaArte Naska clamp lamp fixes to the edge of a desk, drafting table, shelf or workbench and swings a focused beam of light exactly where you need it, without taking up any space on the work surface. Its jointed arms fold, extend and rotate, and its metal head turns and tilts, so you can reach across a large desk, pull the light in close for detail work, or push it out of the way when you are done. A 1933 design, it comes in two sizes and three finishes and plugs straight into the wall.

Light quality and how it performs
Naska is built for close, focused work. The conical metal head acts as shade and reflector, concentrating the light of one E26 bulb into a direct beam that stays on your work and out of your eyes.
Reach and adjustability. Mounted on its clamp, the lamp has two jointed arm segments, 11.8 in (30 cm) each on the Small and 19.6 in (50 cm) each on the Large. The arms rotate at the clamp, fold and extend, and the head rotates and tilts, so you can sweep the beam across a wide desk, drop it low over a drawing or model, or swing it up to bounce off a wall. Because the clamp holds the lamp at the edge, the whole desktop stays free. The on/off switch is a rotating knob on the head, right where your hand is when you adjust it.
Fit the bulb to the task: a neutral 4000 K LED for crisp, detailed work, or a warm 2700 K to 3000 K for reading and evening use. The lamp is not dimmable.
Size and placement
- Small: 11.8 in arm segments and a 4.8 in head. Good for compact desks, shelves, bunk beds and narrow workbenches.
- Large: 19.6 in arm segments and a 6.2 in head. Reaches across full-size desks, drafting tables and large work surfaces.
- Clamp: the clamp is 2.9 in wide and 3.5 in high; check that your desk or shelf edge is free of drawers or lips where it will attach.
- Position: as general guidance, clamp it on the side opposite your writing hand so hand shadows fall away from the work, and at the back or side edge so it does not get in the way of your chair.
Where it works
Home offices. Frees up desk space on small or crowded desks while giving strong, adjustable task light.
Studios and hobby rooms. Ideal on drafting tables, sewing tables, model-making benches and art desks where you need light right on the detail.
Bedrooms and shelves. Clamp it to a shelf, headboard ledge or loft bed for a space-saving reading light.
Offices, workshops and retail. On office workstations, design studios, workshops, repair counters and display shelves, the clamp keeps work surfaces clear and every lamp adjustable. It needs only an outlet.
Style and pairing
FontanaArte calls Naska the ancestor of every spring-balanced desk lamp, and its honest metal arms, visible joints and conical head still read as pure, functional design. Black is graphic and works with dark woods, steel and leather; White feels light and fresh on pale desks and in Scandinavian-leaning rooms; Chrome adds a polished, classic note. It suits Modern, Classic and Minimalist workspaces alike.
Why choose the Naska clamp lamp
- Mounts on the edge of the desk, so the work surface stays clear.
- Fully adjustable arms and head for precise, focused light.
- Two sizes and three finishes.
- Standard E26 bulb for an easy choice of colour temperature.
- A 1933 design that has outlived countless imitations.
Care
Switch off and let the bulb and head cool before adjusting or cleaning. Dust the arms, joints and clamp with a dry microfibre cloth; for marks, use a lightly dampened cloth and dry immediately. Avoid solvents and abrasive pads on the painted or chrome finish. Tighten the clamp firmly but without forcing it onto delicate surfaces; a felt pad protects fine finishes. For dry indoor rooms only.
