Light quality and how it performs

Loop's light comes out through the gap between its two halves, so it shines outward and down across the surface it sits on rather than up into your eyes. Rotating the upper half opens or closes that gap, which lets you control the intensity by hand: a thin glowing line for atmosphere, or a wider band for a brighter wash. The integrated LED is dimmable and powerful, 3650 lumens at a warm 3000K with colour rendering above 90, so wood, stone and fabric look rich and natural. Because the body is mirror-polished, it also reflects the room and its own light, which makes it look different in every setting. There are no bulbs to change.

Size and placement

Loop is 19.6 in (50 cm) across and only 6.6 in (17 cm) tall, so think of it as a low sculpture rather than a traditional lamp. It needs a surface at least 22 in wide and deep: a coffee table, a wide console, a low sideboard or a bench. On the floor, set it beside a sofa, at the foot of a staircase or in a corner, where it washes the floor and wall with light. Its low profile keeps sightlines clear across a room, which suits open-plan spaces and windows.

Care

Switch off before cleaning. Wipe the polished body with a soft microfibre cloth to remove fingerprints; for marks, use a cloth lightly dampened with water and dry it immediately. Do not use abrasive pads, polishes or solvents, which can scratch or haze the mirror finish. Lift the lamp from underneath rather than by the rotating top. The LED is integrated and not user-replaceable. For dry indoor rooms only.
