It plays a clever trick on the classic glass lampshade: the dome looks empty, and the light comes from a slim metal band around its middle, the "equator", where two luminous discs send light down onto the table and up into the tinted glass cap. Light quality and how it performs

Equatore splits its light in two. The lower LED disc directs a clean, downward beam onto the surface below, so a kitchen worktop or a dining table gets real working light. The upper disc lights the glass cap from inside, which glows softly and gives the pendant its presence across the room. Internal screens arranged in layers spread the LED light evenly over each disc, so you see a smooth luminous ring rather than individual points.

At 40W and 4500 lumens, Equatore is bright enough to be the main light over an island or table. The 2700 K colour is warm and the CRI above 90 renders food, wood and skin tones accurately. Dimming is 1-10V: ask your electrician to pair it with a 1-10V compatible dimmer or control so you can turn it down for dinner.

Size and placement

Over a kitchen island. As general guidance, hang the bottom of the pendant about 30 to 36 in (76 to 91 cm) above the counter. At 14 in across, two Equatore pendants suit an island of about 6 to 7 ft; use three for 8 ft or more, spaced about 28 to 32 in apart on centre.

Over a dining table. Keep the bottom about 30 to 34 in above the tabletop. One pendant suits a round table of about 36 to 42 in; two work over a rectangular table for six.

In an entry or stairwell. Keep at least 7 ft (213 cm) between the floor or nearest step and the bottom of the pendant. A pair or trio at staggered heights reads well in a stair hall.

Installation. Equatore is hardwired to a ceiling junction box with a 7.8 in white painted metal canopy, hung on a steel cable with a black power cable. The maker drawing shows a suspension of up to 98.4 in (250 cm), adjusted on site. A licensed electrician should install it and connect the 1-10V dimming.

Care

Switch off the power before cleaning. Dust the glass and metal with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. For fingerprints on the glass, use a cloth lightly dampened with water or mild glass cleaner applied to the cloth, then dry. Clean the polished copper, black and gold finishes with a dry cloth only; avoid abrasive or chemical polishes. Keep moisture away from the LED band and wiring.
