The OKU rectangular tray by Peter Lienhart is solid oak with a low 0.8" edge, in three sizes: small (4.9" × 9.9") for a soap dish or a vanity, medium (7.9" × 10.8") for coffee for two, and large (11.8" × 15.8") for breakfast or drinks. Natural oak lets the grain show; Black is lacquered. Only the sizes in stock at blomus can be selected.

The designer: Peter Lienhart

Peter Lienhart (born 1969) holds a degree in industrial design from Pforzheim University in Germany. His work starts from pure shapes in which every detail has a reason, backed by long experience with the technical side of home products. For blomus he has also designed the FAROL and MITURO LED lamps.

Why we carry it

We are an authorized blomus retailer and have been curating design-led pieces for the home since 2009. OKU trays are made of solid oak certified by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC), sourced from Northern European forests. Natural lets the grain show; Black is a lacquered finish that turns the tray into a dark frame for whatever sits on it. Each tray has a low raised edge. blomus is a family company run by the fourth generation of the Blome family in Sundern, Germany. It began in 1921 making bicycle parts, moved into copper, brass, pewter and stainless-steel design pieces in 1961, and has worked under the blomus name since 2000.

Wipe with a soft, damp cloth; do not soak it or use abrasive or acidic cleaners. Like all natural wood, it can be marked by strong sunlight, standing water or long exposure to moisture, so wipe spills promptly. Natural wood varies in grain and tone from tray to tray.
