IRIS is 3.9" across and 7.2" high: a perfectly round glass bubble on a slim aluminum base in Gunmetal or Metallic. Tiny air bubbles inside the glass make the light look like it rises through water. It gives 115 lumens, has three light colors from 2700K to 4000K, dims smoothly and runs 4.5–47.5 hours per charge. Charging on the included station takes about 4.5 hours; blomus advises against quick-charge power cubes. The IRIS series won the German Design Award 2025 (Winner) for its larger indoor table lamp, according to blomus.

The designer: Sebastian Herkner

Sebastian Herkner (born 1981) studied product design at the HfG Offenbach and opened his own studio in 2006, after a stint at Stella McCartney in London. He designs furniture, lighting and objects for international brands, plus interiors and exhibitions. He was Guest of Honour at imm cologne in 2016, Maison&Objet Designer of the Year in 2019 and EDIDA Designer of the Year in 2021. For blomus he also designed the VAHLO stoneware and the VOLOS travertine tables.
