Hito Glass-Profile Wall Sconce and Ceiling Light by Viso

A small LED light, shaped like a drinking glass, that mounts on a wall or ceiling.

Hito takes its profile from glassware. The three sizes follow a whisky tumbler (3.1 inches), a wine glass (4.7 inches) and a martini glass (8.3 inches), and each one mounts on a wall or a ceiling with the LED built in.

Choose Matte White to blend into the wall, or Anodized Gold for a warm metallic accent. Viso rates the 6 W LED at 3000K and about 440 lm, with Triac or ELV dimming.

The designer and the story

Hito is part of the Minimal Design Series from Viso Design Studio, the Toronto lighting studio founded in 1999. The studio works with architects and interior designers on hospitality and residential projects, and offers custom finishes for commercial work.

Who this is not for

The integrated LED cannot be swapped for another lamp type, and the glasses are small accents rather than room lighting. It is also not for anyone who needs delivery in days.

Frequently asked questions

How far apart should I place Hito fixtures?

As a starting point, space them about 24 to 36 inches apart in a hallway row, and pair the 8.3 inch size with larger gaps. Test with paper cutouts on the wall before drilling.

Is Hito a wall light or a ceiling light?

Both. Viso lists it as wall or ceiling mounted, so the same fixture can be a sconce in a hall or a ceiling accent in an entry.

Which dimmer should I use?

Viso lists Triac and ELV dimming for the integrated LED. Use a dimmer rated for low-wattage LED loads.

Can I change the bulb?

No. The LED is integrated, rated for 50,000 hours, so there is no bulb to replace.

What finishes can I choose?

Matte White and Anodized Gold are the two standard finishes. Viso offers custom finishes only for commercial projects.
