Globo is the classic opal globe, hung simply. A frosted polycarbonate body in Imperial White spreads the light evenly, and the E26/E27 socket means a standard bulb.

Four diameters let you use one globe over a bedside or four over a long island. The largest, at 25.6 inches, is a big statement shape.

The designer and the story

Globo is part of the Viso range from Viso Design Studio, the Toronto lighting studio founded in 1999. Viso offers custom canopies and drops, so the same globe can be adapted for a tall stair or a low room.

The globe is polycarbonate, not glass, and the 25.6 inch size shows a seam. It is also not for anyone who needs delivery in days.

What size Globo should I order?

The 11.8 inch suits an entry or bedside, the 15.7 inch works over a small table, the 19.7 inch suits a dining table, and the 25.6 inch is for a big room or stair. For a long table, use two or three of the smaller sizes.

What bulb should I use?

An E26/E27 lamp, up to 60 W to 100 W depending on the size. Check the spec sheet for your size; an LED lamp with a lower wattage works well.

Can I see the seam on the globe?

On the 25.6 inch size, yes: Viso notes that the seam is visible. The smaller sizes are less noticeable.

How is it hung?

It hangs from a ceiling canopy and is hard-wired; the installation manual is linked under Downloads. We recommend a licensed electrician.

How long will it take to arrive?
