A cluster of hand-molded crystal cubes, in six sizes from 3 to 36 lights.

The multi-light Cubie takes the single crystal cube and gathers it into a cluster: 3, 5, 9, 14, 26 or 36 cubes on one chrome canopy. It is the version to choose over a dining table, a stair or a double-height entry.

Pick the color first, Amber, Clear or Smoke, then the cluster size. The widths run from about 8 inches for 3 lights to 38 inches for 36.

The designer and the story

The Cubie cluster comes from the Origins collection at Viso Design Studio, the Toronto lighting studio founded in 1999. Viso builds clusters and drops with architects and designers, and the cube has been installed in residences in Ottawa, Omaha and Philadelphia.

A large cluster carries real weight and needs planning with your electrician and ceiling structure. It is also not for anyone who needs delivery in days.

Frequently asked questions

How do I choose a cluster size?

Keep the cluster about 12 inches narrower than the table below. A 5-light (12 inch) or 9-light (18 inch) suits most dining tables, a 14-light (24 inch) suits a long table, and 26 or 36 lights are for stair halls and tall rooms.

What bulbs does it use?

Each cube has a G4 bi-pin lamp: a 10 W halogen as standard, or a 2 W G4 LED. Viso recommends LED at 2200K to 2700K with 90+ CRI.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, from 100% to 15% on ELV dimmers. Match the dimmer to the lamp type.

How heavy is a large cluster, and how is it hung?

We recommend a licensed electrician and a structural check for the larger clusters. The spec sheet and drawing are linked here.

How long will it take?

Cubie clusters ship from Canada in 2 to 4 weeks. All sales are final.
