Cubie Crystal Cube Pendant Light by Viso

A single hand-molded crystal cube on a chrome canopy, in Amber, Clear or Smoke.

Cubie is one square block of hand-molded crystal, hung on a slim drop. It works alone as a bedside or bar accent, and because the cube is small you can hang several at different heights.

It uses a G4 bi-pin lamp: a 10 W halogen as shown, or a 2 W LED if you prefer. Viso says it dims from 100% to 15% on ELV dimmers.

The designer and the story

Cubie belongs to the Origins collection from Viso Design Studio, the Toronto lighting studio founded in 1999. Viso offers custom clusters and drops for Cubie, and it has been installed in residences in Ottawa, Omaha and Philadelphia.

Best for

Bedsides, bar runs, narrow entries and any spot where one small crystal accent beats a large shade.

Who this is not for

One cube is accent light, not task or room lighting, and it is not for anyone who needs delivery in days. If you want a cluster, look at the multi-light Cubie instead.

Frequently asked questions

How big is one Cubie?

The crystal cube is about 4.5 inches. Viso draws the pendant with a 106 inch overall drop, so check your ceiling height before ordering.

What bulb does it take, and can I use LED?

It takes a G4 bi-pin lamp. A 10 W halogen is standard and a 2 W G4 LED is optional. Viso recommends LED at 2200K to 2700K with a 90+ CRI.

Does it dim?

Yes, from 100% to 15% on ELV dimmers. Match the dimmer to the lamp type you choose.

How is it hung?

It hangs from a chrome canopy and is hard-wired. We recommend a licensed electrician.

Which color should I choose?

Clear is the brightest, Amber is warm, and Smoke is the darkest. If you plan to cluster several, pick the color that suits the wall behind them.
