Bolio is a simple globe with a twist: one half is metallic and the other half is transparent and reflective, so the bulb and the room both show up in it. It hangs from a single drop and takes a standard E26/E27 lamp.
Four sizes make it easy to choose. The two smaller globes suit entries and bedsides, and the two larger ones hold a dining table or a stair hall.

The designer and the story
Bolio is part of the Viso range from Viso Design Studio, the Toronto lighting studio founded in 1999. Viso designs and makes fixtures alongside architects and interior designers, which is why sizes, canopies and custom drops are part of how the range is sold.

Who this is not for
It is decorative lighting, not a task light, and the reflective surface shows fingerprints and dust more than a matte finish does. It is also not for anyone who needs delivery in days.

Which Bolio size should I choose?
The 9.8 and 11.8 inch globes suit entries, bedsides and bar runs. The 15.7 inch works over a small table, and the 19.6 inch is the one for a dining table or stair hall. Check your ceiling height against the 117 inch overall drop on the drawing.
What bulb does Bolio use?
An E26/E27 lamp. The maximum wattage is 40 W, 60 W or 75 W depending on the size, so check the spec sheet for your size before choosing a bulb.
Does Bolio come in gold?
Viso's spec sheet refers to a gold finish alongside silver. We currently list the silver. If you want gold, contact us and we will ask Viso.
How is it installed?
It hangs from a ceiling canopy and needs hard-wiring. We recommend a licensed electrician, and the dimension drawing and spec sheet are linked on this page.
