Teukho Lambda Fossil Oak LED Table Lamp – Black/Brown

A wave of warm LED light set into oak that lay buried for 7,000 years: a dimmable table lamp that is also a one-of-a-kind piece of natural history.

The Teukho Lambda is a table lamp shaped like a single sine wave, handcrafted in Italy from two-tone black and brown fossil oak. A diffused 3000K LED line runs along the curve, and a touch dimmer sets the brightness. Designed by Luca Degano for teúkhō, the Friuli company founded by the Garzitto timber family, it uses fossil logs from 5000–6000 BC that were recovered from riverbeds, not cut from living forests.

Best for

Executive desks, living room consoles, sideboards and office reception areas, where you want a soft accent light that also starts conversations. At 18.11 inches long, it suits a desk or credenza with room to show off its profile.

Who this is not for

If you need a bright, adjustable task lamp, Lambda is not the right primary light; Teukho does not publish a lumen rating and the light is diffused. It is also not for projects that require a UL or ETL listing on file, since neither is published by the distributor, or for anyone who wants several lamps that match exactly: natural fossil wood varies piece to piece.

Why we carry it

We have been curating design-led pieces since 2009, and Lambda is a rare object: a working lamp made from wood that was growing thousands of years before the pyramids, with no tree felled to make it. Teukho pairs that material with clean contemporary design and Italian craftsmanship, which is exactly the combination our clients ask us to find.

Buy once: durability and care

Fossil oak is extremely hard and robust, according to Teukho. The distributor does not publish care instructions; our advice is to unplug the lamp and dust it with a soft, dry cloth, and to avoid water, solvents and cleaning sprays on the wood.

Frequently asked questions

Does the Teukho Lambda Black/Brown lamp work with a standard US outlet?

Yes. The LED line runs at 12 V, and the power unit included with the lamp accepts 100–240 V at 50/60 Hz, which covers a standard US 120 V outlet.

How do you dim the Teukho Lambda lamp?

Lambda has an elegant touch dimmer switch, so you set the brightness of the LED line with your finger instead of a separate in-line dimmer.

Is the Lambda Black/Brown bright enough for desk work?

Teukho does not publish a lumen rating. The LED line gives a diffused, warm 3000K glow that suits ambient and accent lighting; for long, detailed work we suggest pairing it with a dedicated task lamp.

What is fossil oak, and was a tree cut down to make this lamp?

Fossil oak comes from ancient trunks that lay buried in river sediment for thousands of years, darkening and hardening without turning to stone. Teukho recovers these logs rather than felling trees, and states that no trees have ever been cut for its pieces.

How much room does the Teukho Lambda Black/Brown need?

Its overall dimensions are 18.11 x 11.02 x 3.94 inches (46 x 28 x 10 cm). Measure your desk, console or shelf for at least the 18-inch length before ordering.

Will my Lambda Black/Brown look exactly like the photos?

Not exactly. Each lamp is cut from a fossil log with its own grain, color and texture, which Teukho notes cannot be reproduced artificially, so yours will be unique.

Other colors

Lambda is also available in Black and Brown.
