Swell String Narrow Damp-Rated Pendant Module, Linkable 8 in Spun Aluminum

The narrow module of Pablo's Swell String system: a damp-rated pendant you link into runs over stairs, bars and patios.

We curate Swell String for projects where one fixture type has to cover indoor and covered outdoor spaces. This is the slimmest, tallest shade in the system, so it works in tight bays, along railings and in long runs where you want a vertical rhythm. Each module has interconnectable sockets, a brass interior that warms the light, and a replaceable E26 LED lamp.

Best for / where to use it

• Covered patios and loggias: damp rating allows protected outdoor use, with no separate outdoor fixture needed.
• Staircases and stair voids: stagger modules at different drops down a stairwell.
• Bars, counters and kitchen islands: a horizontal run with the 22-28 in spacing gives even pools of light.
• Restaurants and hotel lobbies: link modules into a custom canopy without a custom fabricator.
• Entries and breezeways: a vertical module draws the eye up in low-width spaces.

Installation & planning

• Hardwired: the system needs a power feed with canopy (sold separately), so an electrician should connect it to a junction box.
• A 10 ft (305 cm) vertical kit cable is included; the 30 ft (915 cm) horizontal kit is sold separately and carries up to 12 lamps.
• Plan for up to 34 lamps on one power source and keep the 22-28 in (56-71 cm) spacing for clean runs.
• Use a TRIAC/ELV dimmer; ask Pablo about DALI.
• Suitable for damp locations only; keep modules out of direct spray.

Who this is not for

• Wet locations: the rating is damp, not wet.
• Anyone expecting light that warms as it dims: the lamp is fixed at 3000K.
• Plug-in installs: the system must be hardwired through a power feed.

What do I need besides this module?

A power feed with canopy, sold separately, plus the vertical or horizontal kit that suits your layout. A String 3 Mixed set already includes the feed.

How many modules can one feed run?

Pablo lists up to 34 lamps per power source, and 12 lamps on the 30 ft horizontal kit.

How tall is the narrow shade against the others?

The shade is 8 in (20 cm) across and 14 in (36 cm) tall, the slimmest and most upright in the String family.

Can I hang it on a covered porch?

Yes, it is damp rated for protected indoor and outdoor spots. Keep it out of direct rain; there is no wet rating.

Does the bulb come with it?

Yes, a replaceable Satco 11 W E26/PAR30 LED is included. Replacement lamps are not covered by the warranty.

Can I dim it with my existing dimmer?

Use a TRIAC/ELV dimmer. The color stays at 3000K as it dims.
