Frame finishes

The Rumi Arm takes the bentwood café chair and adds a continuous curved arm that runs from the back rail down to the front legs. The frame is steam-bent solid beech, the back is a woven cane panel, and the seat comes either in matching cane or padded in black PPM. Arms make it the natural choice for the ends of a dining table, a hotel lobby corner or a desk in a reading room. It reads as classic European bistro furniture, so it settles easily into Transitional, French and warm Scandinavian rooms.

Care

Wipe PPM and faux leather with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Dust the cane with a soft brush and keep it away from direct heat and long, strong sun, which dry the weave. Wipe the frame with a dry cloth and avoid harsh cleaners. Cane, wood and upholstery vary naturally in tone from piece to piece.

The cane seat matches the back and keeps the chair light and airy. The black PPM seat is padded, softer for long meals and wipes clean.

Do the arms fit under a table?

The curved arms run from the back to the front legs. Measure your table apron height before ordering; arms that do not clear the apron keep the chair pulled out.

Is the cane rigid?

Woven cane has a little give by design. Slight movement in the seat and back is normal and does not affect durability.
