Size and Color. The 32 in top is black Italian ceramic bonded to tempered glass; the 40 in top is solid Italian ceramic in a grey-white stone look. Screens show color slightly differently than real life.
Ceramic colors

Ceramic tops give the look of stone with a harder, less porous surface, which makes them a practical choice for busy kitchens and restaurant tables. The 32 in black top is a thin layer of Italian ceramic fused to tempered glass for a lighter top that still reads as solid black stone. The 40 in top is a single slab of solid Italian ceramic in a grey-white veined finish, sized for a four-person dining table. Pair either with a Tango or Daisy base and a dining post.

Planning notes

- Use the 22.8 in Tango base or the Daisy base under the 40 in top.
- Ceramic resists stains better than marble, so it suits tables that see coffee, wine and sauces.
- Use felt or rubber pads under heavy objects to protect the edge.
- Shipping: in-stock table tops ship in 3 to 5 business days. If the size and finish you choose is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.
Who it is not for
- Outdoor use
- Anyone who wants the natural variation of real marble: see the marble tops
- Side tables: the smallest ceramic top is 32 in
Care
Wipe with a soft cloth and warm, soapy water, then dry. Ceramic resists most stains and household cleaners, but skip abrasive pads, which can dull the finish. Handle the edges with care when moving the table; a sharp knock can chip ceramic and glass.
Designer credit
These ceramic tops are offered by sohoConcept, a contract and residential furniture maker, to fit its Tango and Daisy table bases.
Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the two tops?
The 32 in top is a 3 mm black Italian ceramic layer on 8 mm tempered glass. The 40 in top is 13.5 mm solid Italian ceramic in grey-white.
Is ceramic better than marble?
Ceramic is harder and less porous than marble, so it resists stains and etching better. Marble has natural, one-of-a-kind veining.
Which bases fit?
Both tops fit the Tango and Daisy bases with a dining post.
How many people does it seat?
The 32 in top seats two and the 40 in top seats four.
Why do the prices differ?
The 40 in solid ceramic top costs more than the 32 in ceramic-on-glass top because it is larger and solid ceramic throughout.
Can I put hot dishes on it?
Ceramic handles heat well, but use trivets to protect the edge and, on the 32 in top, the glass backing.
