Base finishes

The Prisma Wire stool is the most affordable way into the Prisma stool family: the faceted, low-back Prisma seat on a base bent from solid steel wire, with the footrest formed into the frame. Each leg ends in a plastic glide set into the wire, so it moves quietly on hard floors. Pick chrome for a classic diner look, black or white for Modern kitchens, bone for a softer Scandinavian palette, or gold for a Glam bar. The seat is a steel frame with S-shaped springs in molded foam, finished in a removable slipcover.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters and kitchen islands; choose Bar for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Leave 10 to 12 in between the seat and the underside of the counter for knees, and about 22 in of counter edge per stool.
• Wire bases are light to lift and slide, which helps when stools are moved for cleaning every night.
• Shipping: in-stock stools ship in 3 to 5 business days. If your seat and base combination is out of stock or on its way to our warehouse, please allow 10 to 15 weeks for it to ship.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Counter or bar height?

Counter stools stand 30 in tall overall for 35 to 37 in counters. Bar stools stand 39 in tall overall for 40 to 42 in bar tops.

Is there a footrest?

Yes. The footrest is part of the bent wire frame on both heights.

Will it scratch my floor?

Each leg ends in a plastic glide set into the wire, which protects hard floors.

How much weight does it hold?

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost least. The orange Camira Yoredale boucle seat sits in the middle upholstery tier. The gold base finish adds a small surcharge.

Can the seat cover be replaced?

Yes. The slipcover is held with Velcro and can be removed and replaced. It can also be made in your own material: 1 yd of fabric or 18 sq ft of leather.
