Base finishes

The Prisma Cat-Wire stool is the lightest-looking base in the Prisma family: a slim frame of solid steel rod with splayed legs and a square footrest, finished in chrome, black or brass. It is also the entry price for a Prisma stool, which makes it a strong pick for outfitting a long cafe counter or a busy breakfast bar. Each leg ends in a plastic glide set into the steel to protect floors. The faceted seat is built on a sprung steel frame in molded foam and finished with a removable slipcover. It suits Modern, Industrial and Glam spaces.

Planning notes

• Choose Counter for 35 to 37 in counters and kitchen islands; choose Bar for 40 to 42 in bar tops.
• Leave 10 to 12 in between the seat and the underside of the counter for knees, and about 22 in of counter edge per stool.
• The open steel frame keeps sightlines clear, which helps a small kitchen feel larger.

Care

Wipe faux leather and PPM with a soft, damp cloth and mild soap, then dry. Vacuum fabric seats regularly and blot spills right away. Wipe the metal base with a soft, dry cloth; skip abrasive pads and harsh cleaners, which dull plated and powder-coated finishes. Leather and fabric vary slightly in shade from batch to batch.

Counter or bar height?

The counter stool stands 30 in tall overall for 35 to 37 in counters. The bar stool stands 39 in tall overall for 40 to 42 in bar tops.

Is there a footrest?

Yes. A square steel footrest is built into the frame on both heights.

How is it different from the Prisma Wire stool?

The Cat-Wire frame is a slimmer rod base with splayed legs in chrome, black or brass. The Prisma Wire base is a bent wire frame offered in more colors, including white, bone and gold.

How much weight does it hold?

It is rated for 350 lb.

Why do the prices differ?

Faux leather seats cost least. The orange Camira Yoredale boucle seat sits in the middle upholstery tier. The brass base finish adds a small surcharge.

Can the seat cover be replaced?

Yes. The Velcro slipcover is removable. Customer's own material needs 1 yd of fabric or 18 sq ft of leather.
