Seat and Back. Seat and back are hand-woven natural rattan cane, an open mesh that breathes and softens slightly with use.

The Pierre J. dining chair in solid ash sets a natural rattan cane seat and back into the collection's angular compass-leg frame, the V-shaped supports that give the chair its architectural, mid-century profile. It is a side chair for dining rooms, bistros and restaurants that want texture without upholstery to clean: cane breathes, wipes down and looks better as it ages. The frame is solid ash in a warm walnut, graphic black or pale natural finish, and the chair is built in Türkiye, ships assembled two to a box and is rated for 350 lb.

Care

Dust the ash frame and the cane with a soft, dry brush or cloth, and wipe spills with a barely damp cloth, then let the cane air dry. Keep it away from radiators and heat vents. Natural cane is a plant fibre, so its colour deepens with age and its tension shifts slightly with humidity. Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive pads on the finished wood.
