Frame finishes

The Pierre J. armchair in solid ash is the collection's most recognizable piece: an inverted-V compass frame, broad flat arms, and a woven natural rattan cane seat and back that tilt back just enough for a relaxed dinner or a desk. It works at the head of a dining table, as a desk chair in a study, or as a pair of occasional chairs in a living room. The frame comes in walnut, black or natural ash, and a loose seat cushion in PPM-S or Camira Blazer wool can be added for extra comfort. It is built in Türkiye and rated for 350 lb.

Planning notes

• At 22 in wide, allow about 26 in of table edge per armchair.
• Check the arm height against your table apron if you want the chair to slide in.

Care

Dust the ash frame and the cane with a soft, dry brush or cloth, and wipe spills with a barely damp cloth, then let the cane air dry. Keep it away from radiators and heat vents. Natural cane is a plant fibre, so its colour deepens with age and its tension shifts slightly with humidity. Avoid harsh cleaners and abrasive pads on the finished wood.

Can I add a seat cushion?

Yes. Choose a black PPM-S cushion with bone piping, a hazelnut PPM-S cushion with black piping, or a dark grey Camira Blazer wool cushion.

Why does the cushion change the price?

The chair alone is the base price. PPM-S cushions are a smaller add-on; the Camira wool cushion costs more.
